Alfred Tea Room is the cutest little cafe spot tucked away behind the busy streets of Beverly Hills amidst the shrubs of Melrose Place and Alfred Street. Pictures of its infamous pink cups and pastel colored boba teas flood Instagram. I had to experience it for myself.
Alfred is decked out in pink from the tiles on the walls to the fresh floral arrangements on the countertops. So whimsical - it was somewhat of an Alice in Wonderland type of feeling. It's the perfect place to have a catch up date with a girl friend or to treat a guest visiting from out of town. They have a thorough selection of teas, coffee drinks, plus sweet and savory bites.
I ordered the Alfred Pink Drink: almond milk, cinnamon, vanilla, strawberry, pomegranate, and beet root. It was such a tasty and unique flavor - even more delicious than it looked! To eat, I also tried the Raspberry Rose Dipped Croissant, a croissant filled with raspberry puree and coated with pink-colored white chocolate - definitely more like a desert than a breakfast pastry. Beware of sugar overload. The total for the order was $14, pricey for a pastry and a tea, but on par as far as Beverly Hills goes.
The verdict? I will definitely be coming back! The atmosphere was charming, the staff was pleasant, and the Alfred Pink Drink was not something I can have just once. Totally add it to your list of must-sees when visiting the Los Angeles area.
